Seria de filme The Godfather/ Nasul reprezinta o trilogie emblematica in istoria cinematografiei, dar putini stiu ca povestea din spatele productiei filmelor inspirate din romanul lui Mario Puzo este poate la fel de epica. Acesta este subiectul din The Offer, miniseria Paramount+ avand premiera pe 28 aprilie 2022.
Dan Fogler joaca rolul regizorului Francis Ford Coppola, Matthew Goode este Robert Evans, Directorul Paramount Studios, iar Juno Temple o interpreteaza pe Bettye McCartt, secretara lui Albert S. Ruddy. Giovanni Ribisi intra in rolul infamului mafiot Joe Colombo, care a fost complet impotriva lansarii filmelor, din cauza urii si prejudecatilor ce reies din ilustrarea comunitatii Italiano-Americane. Colin Hanks si Burn Gorman joaca rolul unor sefi de la studioul de productie.
Dexter Fletcher (Rocketman) a regizat cateva din cele 10 aposoade ale miniseriei, fiind si producator executiv alaturi de Michael Tolklin, creatorul serialului, showrunner-ul si scenarista Nikki Toscano si Albert S. Ruddy.
“What sealed it for me was when Al [Ruddy] said, ‘Every day of making ‘The Godfather’ was the worst day in my life,’ and that told me we had a show. For every character in the film, getting it made or stopping it from being made was at the core of their actions, and it was a matter of life and death to them,” a declarat Michael Tolklin.
“At the beginning of our story, we come to learn that the mafia has a very active interest in making sure that ‘The Godfather’ never gets made,” a adaugat Nikki Toscano.
