Au fost anuntate nominalizarile la Premiile Academiei Britanice de Film din 2022, The Power of the Dog – western-ul modern in regia lui Jane Campion aflandu-se pe primul loc, cu 8 nominalizari. Drama lui Kenneth Branagh, Belfast a obtinut 6 nominalizari, urmata de No Time to Die, Licorice Pizza si West Side Story, cu cate 5 nominalizari fiecare.
“The key thing to the whole review is making sure more work is seen by more voters and all the changes were geared to that because it’s about levelling the playing field. It’s not about stipulating quotas [in the nominations], because we didn’t feel that was was right and people didn’t want that. They want their work to be recognized,” a declarat Krishnendu Majumdar, Presedintele BAFTA, pentru Variety.
Anul acesta au fost selectate 48 de filme, cu doua mai putine decat in 2021. La categoria interpretare, 19 din cei 24 de nominalizati se afla pentru prima oara in aceasta lista selecta. In cazul regizorilor, in acest an exista un numar egal de femei si barbati.
Cea de-a 75-a editie a Premiilor BAFTA va avea loc pe 13 martie 2022, la Royal Albert Hall din Londra, fiind prezentata de actrita Rebel Wilson.
