Vince Vaughn joaca aici in rolul fratelui mai mare al celebrului Mos Craciun. Copilaria lui Fred la Polul Nord nu a fost deloc usoara, fiind comparat mereu cu fratele lui, Nicholas Claus (Paul Giamatti), care era un adevarat sfant. Acesta a crescut in spiritul Craciunului, al altruismului si filantropiei, in timp ce fratele sau Fred devenea exact opusul : un om superficial si morocanos, care nu facea altceva decat sa-i insele pe toti din jur. Din pacate, acest comportament il trimite pe Fred la inchisoare. In ciuda protestelor Doamnei Craciun (Miranda Richardson), lui Nicholas i se face mila de fratele lui si il scoate din inchisoare, cu o singura conditie : sa se intoarca la Polul Nord si sa isi plateasca datoria facand jucarii. Problemele vor aparea atunci cand cea mai veselea perioada a anului va fi pusa in pericol de modul de a fi al lui Fred, Craciunul apropiindu-se cu repeziciune!
