Ben Affleck a ales urmatorul film pe care il va regiza: The Big Goodbye, despre productia unui film legendar de la Hollywood – Chinatown!
Affleck va scrie si scenariul, adaptand cartea The Big Goodbye: Chinatown and the Last Years of Hollywood scrisa de Sam Wasson. Celebrul actor va produce filmul, alaturi de Paramount si Lorne Michaels (SNL), cel care a cumparat initial drepturile de ecranizare a cartii.
The Big Goodbye spune povestea din spatele unuia dintre cele mai bune filme americane din toate timpurile, facut intr-o epoca in care cineastii chiar aduceau ceva nou, unic si inovator in cinematografie.

Ultimul film regizat de Affleck a fost Live by Night (2016), care mi s-a parut foarte lung si slab, in timp ce Argo (2012) a castigat Premiul Oscar pentru cel mai bun film (bine meritat, zic eu). In prezent, acesta se afla pe platourile de filmare la The Last Duel, in Irlanda.
