Wolf este o un nou thriller britanic bazat pe seria de romane Jack Caffery, scrisa de Mo Hayder. Serialul il are in centru pe detectivul – inspector (DI) Caffery (Ukweli Roach), un barbat obsedat de vecinul sau, fiind convins ca acesta i-a omorat fratele de 10 ani, in anii ’90. Intre timp, intr-o casa izolata din Monmouthshire, instarita familie Anchor-Ferrers este luata prizoniera si complet terorizata de jocurile crude a doi psihopati.
La inceput, cele doua fire narative par sa nu aiba vreo legatura dar, pe parcursul actiunii, Caffery va fi atras intr-o cursa contra-cronometru si intr-un caz dublu de crima cutremurator, petrecut in urma cu 5 ani. Sacha Dhawan si Iwan Rheon ii interpreteaza pe Honey si Molina, doi barbati care se dau drept politisti pentru a patrunde in casa familiei Anchor-Ferrers, formata din Oliver (Owen Teale), Matilda (Juliet Stevenson) si fiica lor, Lucia (Annes Elwy). Curand insa, cei doi isi vor arata adevara fata – o pereche de sadica de criminali, care ia ostatica familia, pe care o ameninta cu tortura.
“I always look at the last character I’ve played and then I am always looking for the next character to be something completely different, something that’s going to challenge me. Honey certainly did that. Also, it’s the blend of genre [in Wolf] as well that’s really appealing to me in terms of it’s a heightened world of crime, there’s horror in there and then there’s a strain of sickly humour, which is the stuff I love watching and the stuff I love playing. There’s just so much for me to get my teeth into,” a declarat Sacha Dhawan pentru DQ.
“It’s nice to have a variety of stuff. It just keeps things interesting. Wolf in particular, I was reading it and I just love how it changes throughout. It’s always moving very quickly and the dynamics between the characters are always changing. It’s really thrilling and there are little surprises and twists and turns that come and you don’t expect them. That’s a really cool thing,” adauga Rheon, cunoscut mai ales pentru rolul crud al lui Ramsay Bolton din Game of Thrones.
Wolf este produs de Hartswood Films si distribuit de APC Studios pentru for the BBC. Filmarile au durat doua luni si au avut loc in sudul Tarii Galilor. Cele 6 episoade vor fi lansate pe 31 iulie 2023.
