Scris de scenaristii filmului Love, Simon si al serialului This Is Us, Isaac Aptaker & Elizabeth Berger si regizat de Jason Orley (Big Time Adolescence), I Want You Back spune povestea lui Peter (Day) si Emma (Slate), care credeau ca se afla pe punctul de a avea parte de cele mai importante momente din viata lor – casatorie, copii si o casa in suburbii. Cei doi sunt insa parasiti de parteneri, trezindu-se, la 30 si ceva de ani, singuri si terifiati ca si-au pierdut sansa de a fi fericiti. Mai mult decat atat, Peter si Emma afla cu stupoare ca fostii lor parteneri si-au gasit deja pe altcineva, asa ca vor pune la cale un plan disperat prin care sa puna capat noilor lor relatii, pentru a-i recuceri pe acestia.
